When you are travelling in the backcountry in Alaska you want gear you can trust. We carry name brands that have been tested in Alaska in all types of weather conditions. In the backcountry you need light weight and compact gear. If you are travelling by bus, train or plane (to Denali or Katmai) you will also want to consider these compact ultralight items


4 season Bivy



SJK Contour Bivy or similar
Highlander Four-season bivy Waterproof-taped seams Arms-out functionality If you don't want to take the extra weight of a tent, pack in and cover. Four-season bivy boasts a 70-denier polyurethane-coated polyester base and 40-denier polyester upper with waterproof-taped seams throughout. Hood can be opened to No-See-Um mesh for ventilation or kept closed to retain maximum heat. Dual zippers with hook-and-loop tabs allow arms-out functionality.

Backpacker - Ultralight tent or shelter


WE carry 1 person bivys to 1 ,2,3 and 4 person ultralight backcountry tents.

All tents come with rain fly, poles, stakes and carry bag.

we also rent tarps and tarp poles for additional coverage.


Sleeping Bags


We have down and synthetic mummy bags. Various temperature ratigs and sizes. Lightweight and compact

We have several types of sleeping pads: Insulated, noniinsulated, foam, Regular length, long length. Winter and summer sleeping pads


Ultralight Stove and fuel


We carry many types of backcountry stoves. Small/compact, durable. MSR, JET BOIL, GSI etc.
If you cant travel with fuel we also have options for you
with windscreens and wax burning packets


Bear Defense


Most people want some sort of bear defense with them int he backcountry. We have bear spray, bear Bells, and several types of bear fences.



Bear Kegs or Cannisters


We have 4 sizes and types of bear proof food containers.
Counter Assaults, Bear Vault and steel Mesh bags.


Backpack and pack cover


YOu will want a pack larger enough for the type of trip you are going on. 60-70L, 80-90L. We carry various sizes and styles. YOu will want to try on one to get the right fit. Most of our customer will go into a store where they live and get fitted.
